Decent basics... Adding for the Zerg... Build Queens! You should have atleast one queen spitting larva (and for early air defense) at every hatchery. It's a good idea to use another queen solely for Creep spreading as well. Important to onte, Queen don't take larva, so you can continiue to macro (build drones) as you build Queens. Day9 did a special on Queen potency this past week. [yt:bhggh6td]HfI7Qdi5B7U[/yt:bhggh6td] Bunch of games with people winning with like 6 or 9 Queens
That game between Gambino and lolololol was so funny! I just love the way he tries to justify their decision-making: "But he spots the engineering bay! OOHHH NOOO.... He spots the engeneering bay!! He now knows that proxy research is a possability..." I lmao for about an extra 5 mins after that game ended at the (and I know its a bit harsh to say this about them) stupidity of the decisions made in that match. I think even those two have to admit that was some crazy stuff going on throughout.
It has to be noted that the videos he cast in that episode were fan submissions. I forget what level those guys were in, but they weren't pros. I'm sure a pro level player would be able to cope with a mulit-Queen attack, but pro players also understand the potency and how to best use Queens, which was really the point of the video. There was one video in the bunch that the guy won basically because he had spread creep across the entire map, and thus prevented the other guy from expanding. Why the guy didn't just comsat and knock off some creep tumors is beyond me. Point being use your Queens, and if you're lower level perhaps try the Queen build a few times for a few easy wins.
Hey I actually recently got into Starcraft 2, fairly sure I'm going to make the Terrans my main faction. I thought Protoss but perhaps Terran would be more suited for my play style. Can you all give me some very simple basics to be able to hold my own?
Well where are you at now? You looking for builds? Unit compositions? How to improve your macro/micro?
I'm always left with a sour taste in my mouth, b/c the first one I watched was him breaking down the archon toilet game and it seemed like he was taking jabs on husky. Great analysis, but he kind of annoys me with his attempts at humor (maybe it's just his personality, but he seems like the kind of guy I would wind up getting in a fight with at a bar lol)
As far as learning the game goes, you can't go wrong with Day9. As far as Day9 himself goes- it's hit or miss. I think he's somewhat funny. When he's not, I tolerate him. But I can understand how he can be annoying sometimes. I used to be a frequent watcher, but since I don't play as much I stopped. Still watch Funday Monday though. Those are always great.
