Yeah... mods such as Kali, Chelsea, Lucy, Matt, etc. Do a perfectly adequet job being the jury & executioner... so why should a person who is already guilty of rule infractions wait to get banned, when they're already guilty.

Yes, whether or not what they did happened would never be any question as we know everything that goes on around the forums. The problem is if what they did was not entirly 110% against the rules.

For instance, is calling for the deaths of perfectly volunteeering soldiers hate speech? On one hand your calling for the deaths of people without specifying their distinct opinions and actions and wanting to execute them for being in said army. On the other hand your calling for the deaths of people who have signed up for an alleged injustice, which would be the equivilant of calling or the deaths of criminals which is really not Hate Speech.

But if someone does an appeal and succedes (which is the majority, as Chelsea has said) then it means there is a problem in the rules that has yet to be adressed. Something shouldn't even get to an appeal, it should be apparent they did or did no break a rule before it gets there.

It is apparent, the appeals are there to ensure fairness. Che is clearly 2000% breaking the rules, even Stalin agrees with that and so do most people.

Ya, asking them to a trial before the execution of someone is way to much work. Especially since they might have to do it every 4 months! That's way to hard, I can't see how anyone could possibly manage.

Also, asking 4 mods/tribunes to review evidence for a day or two isn't going to lead to the complete collapse of Social Order. Someone else will just pick up, we have like 10 of them.

You can only get to 100%. I demand that every mod at least has a basic grasp of mathematics.

I think the system is perfectly fine as it is.

That's funny and not happening. You guys want more fairness yet you want to remove the best method you have for it.

Kara, seriously... seriously - if they broke the rules, they are punished... it doesn't matter if they're not 110% against the rules, they broke the rules and they feel the ironhand of justice, for doing so... there's no point crying over it.. it's the way things are, and I see no reason to add juries or judges on a fucking forum, a forum!

We are lucky to have such leniant mods, other forums aren't this courteous.

If there aren't any questions of fact then there is no point to a trial by jury. The current system of appeals makes far more sense.

In that instance it's already been decided by the staff that it doesn't qualify as hate speech.

It could mean that, but more likely means we want to set a precedent for a specific circumstance while maintaining the structure of the rules. And more likely than that it simply means that there was a consensus that the application of the rules was questionable.

With the exception of spambots we always deliberate in the mod forum before we act on things, so it is apparent by the point someone gets a warning.

We do review everything involving a ban. We spend quite a bit of time reviewing warnings and bans before going through with them, making sure we have enough support and Stalin's support for very important matters.

Che did, but did he after he was unbanned? No, that's not clear at all. If you had a trial you'd be able to see that; but your close-minded justice just wont have that, will it?

    I already explained Stalin.

Most people? You mean like the mods, "Stalin", that Fascist who praises Hitler in his sig, and Unholyknight?
Although maybe I shouldn't be comparing teams when I have myself, Che, SovietUSSR, and Bur.

    I just don't like appeals.
Just ban them in the eye and say Goodbye.
