So the British don't belong to the rest of the world anymore?

They have officially adopted the metric system.(although Imperial is still widely used)
Besides the US it's only Burma and Liberia who still uses Imperial as their official system of measurement.

Napoleon did not invent that. He introduced it. After the French Revolution they also introduced a new calender which didn't become much of a success (unlike the metric system) and was eventually abolished by Napoleon in 1806.

And apparently the British didn't switch to decimal money until 1971. Before 1971 money worked something like this...

If you live here, you learn our system pretty quick. If we adopt the metric system now, everything is going to stop for a whole year because we're learning a new system.

If you live here, you learn pretty quickly our system is superior and orderly and actually makes sense.

I hate using decimals so I don't like the metric system.

Which is exactly why the metric system is so good, converting to a smaller range of decimals is extremely easy. 1,54m = 154cm or 15,4dm. Per 10 units of measurement you can change the prefix. Of course, you'll need to remember all the prefixes, which can be kind of a pain.

That's why I dislike it. The prefixes are not as obvious. When I move from feet to yards, the prefixes are really easy to remember.

The prefixes themselves aren't too hard, most of them are based off Latin and Greek. Also, it makes giant numbers a bit easier to represent, although floating point can be easily used for those. However, the units of the metric can easily be used to represent eachother. A litre is exactly dm^3, and exactly 1 kg of water.

Also, three feet is a yard, isn't it? With a feet being around 30cm and a yard being around a metre, wasn't it?

Well, that's because you've worked with a different system your entire life. I've always used the metric system, so for me it's natural. The same goes for numeric systems and alphabets.

What does the metric system have to do with homosexuality?
