    Obviously the CIA has complete and total control over the american economy. And sets the standards of living notorously low to appese their corperate overlords.

    None of your post said anything at all about CIA activity; you were talking about the poverty line, McCarthyism (which was pretty random), and corporate tax dodging. Those aren't even foreign policy issues, let alone issues that the CIA deals with.

    And in any case, it's kind of the whole point... American foreign policy exists to further American national interests. As does all foreign policy (further the host nation's interests, not America's, that is).

    you made a reference to the american social contract and how america seeks to benefit it's people, I was just defending my standpoint that America has gone pretty far from benefiting it's own people on many an occasion. But you are right, I did stray from the topic
