I have not played such a game before BUT I would like to be a participant because it sounds rather interesting!

ok we have a nice number of participants.

now we need a region and embark point to work with.

we also need to get someone to start us off. if nobody volunteers, i will.

Check out the game with the links I have posted. It's like one of the hardest games out there, so you should get some practice in before hand xD

start in a place that is hot with lots of trees and with a deep river fork running though it. it gives you unlimited water and if you use bridges right you can make the fortress unbeatable.

If you don't have a lot of wealth you won't see invaders in the first year and drawbridges are your best friends.

spring, year 5. after being selected to lead an expedition to a new colony, i have embarked to some shithole known as "dungtrees". i don't know who named it but this must be a punishment or something.

it seems that most of the people taking turns running this place seem be in the expedition, except some mustachio dude, some snooty ass noble coming in next year. ah well.

so i started by cutting some wood and digging a tunnel through the base of our mountain (which dominates our area). starting at the base ensures we have space to expand above AND below. the tunnel is long and narrow, perfect for defence-orientated modifications my successors may deem necessary.

soon we will begin farms and maybe draft some migrants into an effective squad.
