They're completely serious. Well, not the Party Party, I guess. Can't say I take the entire circus seriously myself, can't say I noticed anything from the fascist revolution or whatever the fuck it was Wilders was going to do if he ever got near winning something.
He wasn't going to do anything. Nobody except for maybe the VVD wants to govern with him. Man, if he wins, it's going to be a PR nightmare for the Netherlands.
He won't win. And I also hope the VVD doesn't win. Ideologically I don't agree with them but also Rutte was a weak Prime-Minister.
I don't know, I guess that german and english speaking persons would understand it sooner than other people but it would still be quite difficult.
Pretty damn easy, but you asked how difficult it would be for them to speak English, not how well a Dutch person can speak (or write) English. Well, Fey wrote some phrases here, but I was confused, could you confirm that this is actually Dutch? (scroll down to where you can see DutchMasterRace's post wishing Battleearl a happy birthday.)
Both are quite easy but english is easier because you see and hear it everywhere. The Dutch generally learn languages pretty quickly.
English is taught on most schools (all, even, I think), and German can be chosen as a subject as well, so it isn't too hard. My German is pretty shit, though, as I dropped it as soon as I could, I detested my teacher. I should pick it back up somehow, though. It's generally a pain for them. Although, there was this British politician who had Dutch parents or something, he could actually speak fluent Dutch. It's English, actually. But then written as most Dutch people pronounce it (with the letters having Dutch pronunciation, so for someone who doesn't speak it it'd look pretty strange indeed).
Well, the Party Party probably isn't serious, but the Pirate Party is. They stand for internet liberty and such.
If you have the word 'van' in the middle of your name, and are Dutch, are you a Noble? Or does this mean nothing. (I am content to keep this thread alive)
Not at all, there are almost no nobles left here. The ones that are left have names that are much longer than that. Having the word 'van' in your name fairly common. It means 'from'.
So, anybody could have 'van' in their name if they wanted to? Yes, I know. It does sound pretty neat to be named Armin van Buuren, or Sander van Doorn, though.
Sure, but I don't think it would be easy to change your name. It doesn't really mean anything, just that your last name happens to have a space in between it.
Really, you don't think it sounds nice? To be honest, even Freddie van Battaliono sounds fucking fantastic.
