Ok i am off the mano forum's for now on. It's too fricking complicated for gentlemen to just chat
on point's and counterpoints about the war. So now im just going to give off the same point's i did with peacemaker.

    1. The progress that the U.S, the Pakistani police, and the rest of the coalition has
made is very high eliminating and breaking up hundreds of terrorist havens, training camps, ammo caches,
and catching black market weapon dealers.

    2. From what i hear from the enlisted {people who are actually there not just media blowing shit
out of proportion} say locals are very receptive towards the our military and the new regime.

    3. People have been pissed at the terrorist for including innocent like their neighbors, families, and friends
    in the bomb attacks.

    4. WE HAVE WON!!! this war was of attrition and AL-quid a has lost ALL popularity in their country and abroad.
There only source of manpower is their own kids and kidnapping kids for scouts.

The "war on terror" is unwinnable. They haven't set the requirements for actually ending it, and it's impossible to completely stamp it out. They had a good opportunity to end it when Osama Bin Laden died, but now they have no goals to reach for apart from "kill all the terrorists". I assure you, it's not just Al-Qaeda you are fighting against. I say that Al-Qaeda has won the war on terror, as they've pressured governments into curbing the rights of people in order to combat it, which has caused a huge amount of butthurt among the public. There are huge outcries for people wanting troops to be pulled out. It's basically a win-win situation for the terrorist groups if the Americans and their buddies keep on strangling the Middle East.

If you could include some basic info about the debate in the OP I think that would be helpful. Namely, who is debating, what is the format, stuff like that.

Not really we have the coalition has helped established a country who has signed the bill of rights {progress} and alot
of the people in iraq and middle east condome the terroirst because let's be fare they kidnap children
from their families and force'm to die at age 14! on top of that, the same child kill's innocent civilian's with families who
turn out not to like the terroirst too much anymore...I will admit on one thing is and that is that we need to pull out
this is hurting everyone some vet's are not even getting the benefit's the Goverment promised. An also where do they
    go when everyone hate's them?

The second they pull out the so called "stability" will collapse. The "terrorists" are proclaimed martyrs and freedom fighters in their own countries, the invaders are the enemies. Invaders are all they are. The so called "progress" that you are talking about is the USA taking countries by the balls and forcing them aside. As for the veterans, it is unfortunate how they are treated by the public but this should serve as an example that this has been a failure on a monumental scale.

You speak only of Central Asia. Drops in the bucket.

10 bucks says the second we leave that shit falls apart. Don't believe me? Ask the Soviets, the British, or any other foolish power that ever tried to control Afghanistan.

That's a double edged blade my friend. Now a days the leading cause of Taliban recruitment is US presence in Afghanistan.

A war of attrition the has helped in running our economy into the ground........
Fun Fact: Military operations coast money, manpower, and resources.

"Al-quid" (I'm assuming you meant Al-Qaeda.) isn't based in anyone nation. It is one part a decentralized multi-national organization and one part a brand name which can be used by any small independent terrorist cell to make themselves seem more powerful.

I say negative because the police will hold them down, in fact they are the one's that have been fighitng most of the battle's
in iraq with little or no support needed from coalition forces. They are proven patriots and they will not just stand and get shot
or see others be harassed. On top of that women are driving force in this new country, the new freedom's they have been given
has made them more stand-out against AQ leader's who have a...slightly negative view's on these freedoms.

The police won't stand a chance against experienced fighters. Even if they are patriots, they'd still get overwhelmed without full American support. If I'm right, the police force is also corrupt. You seem to be forgetting that the culture for women to be treated as inherently different has existed since the dawn of Islam. I doubt they could ever be considered the "driving force" when they live in countries like Iraq. Just because the Western media has skewered the news into broadcasting about bullshit like "women are getting more liberties!" does not make it true. Feminists are bound to be attracted to one or two individuals and base all of their facts off that.

So....... How is that a rebuttal to any of the points I made?

My god, did you just use the words "Iraq" and "patriots" in the same sentence? You do realize that Iraq is a country of cultural groups that hate each other and were forced into the same borders by the British Empire right?

    Ahh...
    You see the light now.

The problem with the idea of the "War on Terror" is one of practability.
    Like I pointed out before,
as long as there are people there will be people who hate you.
As long as there are people who hate you, there will be the violent extremists.
As long as there are the violent extremists, there will be terror-inducing acts done.
Hence, there will always be terrorism.
Therefore, the "War on Terror" is endless and pointless. Noble. But pointless.
I'm not saying to allow terrorism, but one should probably confine themselves to what is actually possible.

And there is a point in the 'local terrorist' idea.
If you kill a man who disagrees with you, no matter how you see him, his community sees him as a member. Inevitably his death would spur resentment. This could escalate to violence, especially when they ask you to leave and you don't.

And unfortuantely, there are always the replacements. If it was so easy to close down the black market, it would have been done by now.

Ehh... the military isn't all that bad. I don't think that the reception to the new regime will last long though. The main problem is that there is a massive divide between how the West portrayed Democracy and its reality. People might get upset once they figure out that the new regime doesn't actually come with all the fancy benefits that it is touted to.

Maybe. But there is the question of who they blame. The red smire on the ground where a terrorist used to stand. Or the massive foreigner base over la bas.

I've been hearing this one alot, but I can't find the article on it. Can you provide me with the proof please?

Note on Afgan: I hear that the Mongols kicked ass there.

You can't win a war on terror, you can kill a group but a new one will allways come along, there allways another, and the fear of terrorism in the united states has gotten out of hand and are responses to deal with it are some of the worse, see patriot act. and of cource we got into two unnecessary wars, when the Taliban of Afghanistan originality wanted to turn over bin-laden himself or just kill him right there, but we said fuck that shit. but yeah we killed off Al-quada big deal, now kill off brutal African dictators.

Begging of the war, most of the religious leaders of Afghanistan (i.e heads of state) where more then willing to turn him over, because they knew U.S intervention would mean the death of theme (and it did), alot of Al-Quada members where against it but hey what are you going to do.

really if we had thought ratoinaly as a country we could have killed laden in less then a year, and then went back home and avoided Iraq (tough i do agree killing Saddam Hussein was a good thing)

Bush gave the Taliban an ultimatum, either hand over UBL, or we will go after him ourselves. The Taliban decided not to hand him over, and we invaded. At no point was the Taliban willing to give up UBL, I'd suggest going back and reading some of the speeches and literature on that time period

Orrignaly the Taliban asked bin laden if he had done this (and mind you many where pre-pared to chop of his head) to witch of course bin laden responded no no no look at the united states trying to invade your country be mad and be pissed (to witch of course we bomb the shit out of theme and invaded, which btw is also another reason why bin laden never took credit for the 9/11 attacks until later and he realized that the Taliban government was gone)
So in all modern thought the entire war has been one big mistake.

(and the very least we could have just told the Taliban, o.k you can stay in power just tell us where he is and will kill him and get over with it, witch they didn't tough im pretty sure alot did tough it might be they where protecting him because of his role in the soviet-afghan war)
