The united states lost the war. Sure the deaths of the people in the twin towers was a tradegy but not a terrible terrible one. If by going to war the US bankrupted its self and is well fucked. Im sure that if instead of going to war they could have taken a step back and said "ok these people dont like us what can we do to smooth over relations and have this not happen again"

"Lost" depends on what you think the objective was. And what you believe out of the military and the media.
If you believe that the objective was to severly cripple the terrorist organizations, then maybe it was a victory.

Lost in the sense that I understand your post is that you believe that the objective of the bombing was to destabilize the U.S. and Western economies. That is simply not true.

The attack on 9/11 had major symbolic reprecussions, but the destruction of the Twin Towers had minimal impact on the economy itself. At least, the economy did not suffer greatly for the loss...

The terrorists didn't succeed in collapsing the U.S. economy... that was the fault of the U.S. itself. The decline was inevitable given how the economy was functioning. The terrorists didn't cause the housing bubble to burst. The terrorists didn't cause the Wall Street declines. The terrorists didn't drive people out of buisnesses and jobs. The terrorists' acts may have quickened the pace towards the decline or accelerated it, but they certainly didn't cause it.

And I really don't think that the U.S. or anybody would be in the mood for negociation after such an attack...

How do you negociate with genocidal people who's sole purpose is to destroy you?
"please don't blow us up anymore an take this." later that day..."why did you attack us
    again?"

But we need to look out why they want to destroy us and how do they have the means to do such.

I am tired of stupid Dickheads at my school for saying muslims are bad... even though they was a muslim girl only about 20 feet away from the person ( True story )

Ugh for fucks sake people what do you think would happen if Afganistan was the MOST POWERFUL FUCKING COUNTRY EVER! And built military bases on Christian holy lands or occupied the fucking vatican so they can police the damn world... exactly. Dont you think christians would freak the hell out. And also muslims are VERY VERY VERY VERY fanatical in the Middle East. They stone women for walking without a man...

I had a girl in class call me a terrorist for saying Islam is a good faith and have the right to practice there believes, and she knew nothing of the most basic facts of Islam (the 5 pillars) and thought that Islam wants to kill all women, which if you know any history Women play a HUGE role in Islam and are giving rights to divorce, Own businesses, and travel where they please, and own land (rights not seen in Christianized Europe at the time) and also don't forget about Muhammad 4th wife who was a huge factor in Islam (starts with a k)

If your going to bash a religion at least know what your talking about.

Were very aware that we helped out both Osama bin laden and Saddam Hussein out right? sent theme chemical weapons, armor, and lots and lots of guns. Kinda like ironic.

I look at it as a sibling rivalry. But whenever there's somebody messing with our sibling we
mess with them that's the United states way of protecting their interest. other than that i have no
real "excuse for war" that you are looking for freeze and this war is not good i agree. But
those who run from war will fight another day...

Bush gave the Taliban an ultimatum, either hand over UBL, or we will go after him ourselves. The Taliban decided not to hand him over, and we invaded. At no point was the Taliban willing to give up UBL, I'd suggest going back and reading some of the speeches and literature on that time period[/quote:u3goxzhh]
The US did not, and has not produced evidence that is was OBL who orchestrated the attacks. (According to Noam Chomsky.) The war on terror has less to do with fighting terrorism and more to do with American imperialism at this point.

Well just look at the videos of Osama Bin Laden CLAIMING responsibility for the attack, thats a confession, what more evidence do you need to see that he planned the attack?

The Afghanistan War started on October 7, 2001. His supposed admission of responsibility happened after the start of the war. The US wanted a war not justice.

Well look at the time at which the videos Claiming responsibility came out and his first reaction of that he and Al Quada did not do the attacks and it was U.S using lies, which he then used this stance of we didn't do anything and brought it to the leaders of Afghanistan and said "look at the Americans trying to invade your country like the soviets when I did nothing" Which he did this as means to get off the hook; because pretty much the Taliban government of Afghanistan wanted him dead and wore more then eager to send him to the Americans.

So yes he admitted to doing it, but only after the Afghan government was sure he didn't do anything and was involved in fighting in the area.

and now here is Osama on 9/11 " "I have already said that I am not involved in the 11 September attacks in the United States. As a Muslim, I try my best to avoid telling a lie. I had no knowledge of these attacks, nor do I consider the killing of innocent women, children and other humans as an appreciable act. Islam strictly forbids causing harm to innocent women, children and other people. Such a practice is forbidden even in the course of a battle. It is the United States, which is perpetrating every maltreatment on women, children and common people of other faiths, particularly the followers of Islam."

Then why would he change his story? Ignoring the fact that they found recorded conversations of him discussing the attack before it happened, what about his involvment in the first world trade center bombing in 1993, or the us embassy bombings in 1998? Anyway you cut it this guy just has too much evidence leveled against him to be innocent, and if he did not plan the attack then who do you think did?

The only reason we are still in Iraq to begin with is to help the new government keep stability. Many people would be surprised by this but in Afghanistan we have basically decimated the Taliban.
