We are living in WW3. Its not a military war, its a economic war funded by international corporations.

    @ Matt
Why did you quote me twice?

    @ ComradeLer
    1. Its a matter of quantity v. quality.
People today either overestimate or underestimate the ratio. I don't believe that the U.S. and NATO could manage a large enough ratio, but that being said, they could manage a large ratio.

And I think that you are tallying up the Chinese-side alliance up a little bit much.

    2. Russia: Maybe, depends on the circumstances and what opening moves are made. Without a doubt, they will get involved at least at the end, to grab what spoils that they can.

    3. India: Probably not. In the case that, if ,while the rest of the world is distracted, they don't go at it with Pakistan, they will probably declare neutral. It would take a Chinese incurrsion on their terrictory to bring them in. That being said, being so close to China, they probably wouldn't choose a side, just to be safe. I don't think that they hate China enough to do anything.

    4. Most of the countries you posted about aren't exactly what could be called 'military powers'.

    5. It's not exactly anti-American. The government is anti-American. The people are more anti-foreigner in general than anti-[insert specific group here]. The only country that they tend not to like immensely is Japan.

If the U.S. bombed Chinese cities, no matter the cause or reasoning, the Chinese people would rather fight in the name of the 'corrupt' Chinese government that they may or may not hate than watch a gweilo country take over.
Its a 'you killed Wong and his friends and family fight, then you kill them and their friends and family fight' deal.

The system that is capitalism, with its modern day enforcers, corporations, do infact cause the majority of this worlds oppression.

the problem is that humanity is flawed and all we can do about it is wait for the Übermensch to be born. That is the goal of humanity

In the ball-achingly unlikely event that the worst does happen the horror will probably begin courtesy of the delectable Kim Jong-Il. Korea to China and America is a bit like driving a car in that neither shows any open aggression towards each other until they get 'inside' the peninsula. Perhaps if the DPRK did something even more stupidly aggressive than usual then it might set off a chain reaction ending in the destruction of civilisation as we know it.

Of course, it's all hypothetical as everyone knows world war 3 will be started by aliens. From the planet Sedna.

I'm inclined to disagree. North Korea is largely controlled by China. In the unlikely event that Kim actually does open a wide-scale offensive, the Chinese would pull their support out and send troops in to replace him. Really, it will just be a power shift to China with North Korea becoming an 'honorary' member of the Chinese Commonwealth. The U.S. wouldn't be able to get close enough to get involved unless Kim used nukes, in which case it will be more China letting in the U.N. then the U.S.
Upon reflection, a Chinese-controlled North Korea isn't actually that bad.

Your exactly right, we're living in a economic world war 3 so to speak. The economy isn't going to last out at this rate and it's almost inevitable now that the economy might collapse. After the big structure has collapsed, you would place your bets on a WW3 to strike out between the global powers of the world. Well, i guess after that period i wouldn't really like to know what happens to all of us on this planet.

You and I, and indeed the majority of people on this forum will live through this economic WW3... so to speak, and once that period has ended, we will live and get old in it's aftermath.

Except there were no restrictions on WMDs back then because they were largely non-existant. So the U.S. got to use the nuke.
Today, it would be political, social, military, etc. suicide to use a WMD.
And remember that the playing field is marginally more even this time. MAD system.

Point: There is no viable short-cut for either side to win this time around.

Because obviously we will build weapon silos on Mars and moon bases and our people will be able to get to Earth fast enough to matter....
It would help us a lot more if we had like an endwar thing where a company of US marines was constantly orbiting Earth and could go anywhere on Earth within a few hours.
