No they're not. Republics are democracies. Democracies come in one of three forms: direct, representative, or republican. The modern US is a representative democracy, like most of the rest of the civilized world.

Certainly not. The original topic of this thread was debunked as having nothing to do with the freedom of speech ages ago, and since then there's been nought but haberdashery.

Just trying to point something out. Kali, link, and raygun get banned for insulting someone but ler pulls a much much worse insult and gets away scot free because he deleted it...

Did Ler insult you?
Last I recalled, barring an extreme case or broad type, insults must be reported by the target of the insult in order to be registered by the mods as an offense. Unless it overly bothers the mods and they decide to take action, a person who's insults are never reported can potentially get away with a limitless amoung of insults directed at any number of people.

Just saying.

Take Kali as an example. If everyone reported everytime he insulted them then Kali would be like perma-banned by now.

Yes, I was agreeing with you. It wasn't reported therefore there's no penalty and Sly shouldn't let a personal prejudice allow him to go and tattletale on Ler. That's like the logic of a Kindergartner.

What I said was entirely wrong, and I was a hypocrite for having come out with it. Although it is no justification, I was having a really bad day. I apologize, and I'm willing to accept whatever punishment comes my way.

Don't you say this like every time you do this ? I mean I'm really not trying to bash you here or anything but maybe when you have a bad day, just avoid the forums for the day, cuz it seems it only occurs when your having a bad day.

Or maybe you should stop getting upset every time a commie insults someone. And maybe you should go clean out your own camp.
