I'll try to find a source to back that up, but it's a relatively well known fact. I've personally asked many Muslims if they believed apostates should be put to death and their answer is always yes. Even many moderate Muslims believe that if someone leaves Islam and then speaks out against Islam they should be put to death. People like Ayaan Hirsi Ali can't go anywhere without security for this reason.

Also many if not most Muslims believe suicide bombing against civilians is at least sometimes justifiable.

In 2002 the Pew Research Center conducted a survey asking 38,000 Muslims if they believed that suicide bombing and other forms of violence against civilian targets in defense of Islam is ever justified.

The percentage of ‘Yes’ responses by nationality:
    Lebanon: 82%
    Ivory Coast: 73%
    Nigeria: 66%
    Bangladesh: 58%
    Jordan: 65%
    Pakistan: 38%
    Mali: 54%
    Ghana: 44%
    Uganda: 40%
    Senegal: 47%
    Indonesia: 43%
    Turkey: 20%

Note: Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Egypt, Iran, Sudan, Iraq, and the Palestinian territories were not included in the survey. It's safe to assume that these countries would be no better then Lebanon if not much worse.

the verses from the quran you have taken describe the times of hardships for the muslims when they had to flee mecca.
The first few phrases that were said were said as encouragement for the muslims to fight on.
As for the phrase saying do not befriend infidels it describes the time before the muslims fled mecca and were tortured and cheated to slavery. It was said to warn them.
I ALSO WANT TO TAKE THIS TIME TO CLARIFY HOW THE TERRORIST SHEIKHS TWIST THE WORDS OF THE QURAN. THEY TAKE VERSES OUT OF CONTEXT LIKE YOU DID AND TELL THEM TO THE UNEDUCATED AND POOR PEOPLE OF THE REGION AND NEGLECT THE FACT TO TELL THEM THAT KILLING CIVILLIANS IS A SIN AND YOUR ONLY REWARDED IN HEVEAN FOR KILLIG INFEDELS ONLY IF THEY ARE TRYING TO KILL YOU OR IF YOU ARE IN EXTREME DANGER. THEY ALSO PROMISE STUFF LIKE 72 VIRGINS IN HEAVEN (WHEN THEY HAVE NO RIGHT TO ONLY GOD CAN DO THAT)

peace rest on your soul corB

NOTE: plaese no swearing respect everyone opinion

That's a somewhat presumptuous statement to make. Note that in countries with an overwhelming Muslim majority, more said no than yes (Turkey,Pakistan and Indonesia).

I know Iranians and Iraqis who disagree with the use of violence to further the cause of Islam.

What verses are you referring to?

    It’s a reasonable assumption.

Most of those countries are Muslim majority countries, though I don't see how that matters. Even if most Muslim populations were like Turkey it would still be an inexcusable percentage.

Ahmed, I have a question, do you believe the men who brought down the World Trade Center are now in Heaven while their non-Muslim victims are in Hell?

I was not aware that there was a more recent survey. It's good to see that the percentages have gone down since 2002.

Possibly. Not really a good excuse.

When did I say sectarian hatred is exclusive to Islam?

A Jewish State and a Muslim State are both horrible ideas.

Their support of suicide bombing probably has less to do with their interpretation of whatever religious text they read and more to do with the wars in these country between all the different religious and ethnic extremist groups who are all trying to gain control of the region.

So because there is religious conflict, we can't look to their religion to explain why they support suicide bombing? Also why don't the Christians in Lebanon support or practice suicide bombing?

Probably because Christians have a universal belief that suicide is a sin, but I'll tell you one thing those Christians do support and practice: Ethnic Cleansing.

And In terms of it being a religious conflict:
They aren't spilling each others blood to see whose god is better. They're doing it for control of the region.

The fact that they see each other as being members of different groups in which one group needs to take control away from another group is one of the many problems I have with religion in general.

“Why is religion such a potent source of violence? There is no other sphere of discourse in which human beings so fully articulate their differences from one another, or cast these differences in terms of everlasting rewards and punishments. Religion is the one endeavor in which us–them thinking achieves a transcendent significance. If you really believe that calling God by the right name can spell the difference between eternal happiness and eternal suffering, then it becomes quite reasonable to treat heretics and unbelievers rather badly. The stakes of our religious differences are immeasurably higher than those born of mere tribalism, racism, or politics.”-Sam Harris

You seem to only apply religion as a problem concerning Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

People who happen happen to be atheists, along with holding other political beliefs, have committed atrocities. But not for the sake of atheism, they do it for political reasons. What would be the point of killing people for being religious? We don't believe in an afterlife to be rewarded in.
