Yeah, throwing away the medal for joining, though legitimate, does not impress the same sense of importance as throwing away bronze stars.

That's why the reporter shouldn't have said "Medals of Honor", because that makes it sound like people were throwing the congressional medal of honor away, which would be one hell of a statement.

I didn't think it was a political stunt. They weren't violent, and as Pedro said they weren't in the service anymore.
I agree, they should be neutral publicly at least. So if they go to a rally or protest they shouldn't go around talking about their time in the service.
Why? That doesn't make sense. I understand for instance, you don't badmouth your boss while you work for his company, but after you're gone from that company you should be able to say whatever you want.
I agree, but you shouldn't have to honor it after you're out of the service, and you should be able to take part in reasonable political activity. That's just my opinion though, I hardly decide military discipline.

Well my gut feeling Stalin is I don't care. But let's get bogged down with nonsense and say this is an important and media drawing move for the protesters as it demonstrates the soldiers lack of conviction in an unjust war.

very patriotic act by these veterans, obviously copying what the Vietnam veterans did during the Vietnam War. I believe it is an interesting act and they will still be seen by others (as Americans like to say) "heroes".

This was a very noble thing for them to do.
