Well in Egypt the protesters were doing just fine and looked what happened they toppled the regime. Canada also has condemned Libya for that recently.

If there has been anything the Arab spring has taught the world is the strength of the regimes at hands, as well as that the western hopes of western style democracy spreading across the land like crazy were dashed.

The US Admin. didn't turn to the side of the protesters until the very last minute.

    (My emphasis)

Western states don't want democracies. They often run contrary to their interests.

They want people who are going to support there interest and are willing to betray those who do have their interest when it appears they will fall, such as Egypt when the military refused to follow Mubarak and the USA stopped backing him up and switched to the protesters.

Why are people in this forum ignoring the situation in Syria? It´s discusting.
There are many reports of many civilians, including children, being killed in merciless ways.

China and Russia (the axis of anti-democracy) are always voting against any intervention that the UN wants to propose. They should be ashamed of themselfs. But they don´t.

I've stated my opinion countless times. We need to do something. Whether it be military intervention or not, we need to do something before the whole goddamn population is massacred.

China's actions with respect to the Syrian Crisis have never been alleged by any qualified source to be remotely connected to their stance on Democracy in any reports that I have read.
China is looking after its economic interests in Syria, no more, no less. They don't give two **** about the Syrian government any further than how their status [the Syrian government] affects their economic interests.
Your logic is inconsistant. The Chinese did not use their veto power to prevent the actions of any other country with respect to Lybia, which is similar, indeed a catalyst, to what is happening in Syria.

    ´

Well first, the UN could create a new legislation, so that the veto power would be over. And then, vote for an intervention, like in Libya..

Yep. I don´t care if you are the cold blooded guy here who has no pity for the people of Syria. It is you who is giving a bad image of yourself, not me.

Im not saying you are the only one who wants it. What I am saying is there is no valid reason to change UN law just so we can stop one dictator in the middle east.

Its not U.N Intervention, its just the US trying to get rid of governments that are hostile to the US.

It's never good to intervene when people who have no way of fighting back other than a few military deserters are getting bombed and bombarded into smithereens?
