There is lots of great music today, I'm sure. I'm not gonna one of those boring people who say "They don't make real music anymore" or something like that. But there is a problem with the mainstream music today.

As far as 20 years ago you couldn't just sing or play an instrument or write a song and then become famous, you needed a record company, and to get a contract with a record company you needed talent. You could ofcourse also become a local musician, play around the neighbour hood, but then you'd still need talent. I think these days people don't appreciate local music as much for several reasons, and the record companies have kinda lowered their standards. They're not looking for unique, talanted musicians, they're looking to make money and they've realised that you don't need talented people to make money.

There is ofcourse alot of good indie music, but there is also alot of bad indie music, because the bad stuff isn't filtered out.

There are always exceptions, but those I still don't enjoy those bands very much. The Dutch language isn't a very good language for singing, I guess.

Same goes with french, when it comes to making music atleast, it's not a very rythmic language. It sounds absolutely great when done though. I love french jazz, it's rare (though not as rare as you'd think) but exotic and excelent just because of that.

no im not a wigger trust me i listen to hardcore, electronic, ragaee rap rock alternative, dubstep ... most stuff just not really the new stuff i even listen to some of lil waynes older stuff i just dont like all those guys who are into music for the money because thats when they dont have the lyrics coming from back when they didnt have the money and girls and fame i just think music by bands that arent known too well is better ... perfect example is a band called slightly stoopid, check em out

Well, we still have Voltaire (the musician) he's a freaking genius. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lF-oouxH8Q (It doesn't fit all tastes, i know. But in my opinion he is one of the only modern artists worth listening to.)

Well, you must have never heard of shu-bi-dua or Drengene fra angora those were the golden age of danish music. All we produce now is shitty pop and almost ok rock. Volbeat is ok, but just not my taste.

Nope, Volbeat is the only Danish band I know. Still, whatever they make now can not be worse than the shit we produce over here. It's god awful, really.

To me French isn't a very good language for singing... I think it's even a better language for rap than singing... The only French song that I find really good is the original version of the Internationale...
Well, I agree with that and the same goes for German...
