    "Won" as in getting a man on the moon? Because reaching space, reaching the moon and sending a man into space were all won by the Soviets, if I'm not mistaken. Still, combining the three I find a bigger achievement than each of those on their own.

    It was a golden age for Europe.
    The rest of the world was getting along reletively well during the dark ages before the Renaissance.
    If I am not mistaken, Muslim scholars were redefining mathematics at the time while Zheng He was conquering waves from the South China Sea to East Coast of Africa.
    I would hardly call the Renaissance the greatest moment for all humans in human history.

    I always thought this was arguable seeing as though China got the plague and the Mongols. However besides that I agree.

    I admit I'm a huge fan of the enlightenment and French revolution but I don't think they qualify as the most important moment in human history.
