He wasn't nearly as good as his propaganda. He did almost nothing in the country, but why he's popular is because he enacted some programs that benefit poor people who don't have a job. The best presidents we ever had were GetĂșlio Vargas, Juscelino Kubitchek and Fernando Henrique Cardoso (short form FHC).
Under Lula, Brazil became the world's eighth-largest economy, more than 20 million people rose out of acute poverty and Rio de Janeiro was awarded the 2016 Summer Olympics, the first time the Games will be held in South America that sound pretty good to me
Mayor, no one paticularly likes any of their own leaders. Americans aren't exactly big fans of Reagan, for instance.
It varies, but I think we don't automatically hate our leaders. We have had many national heroes we are fond of.
Australia would be the first country to go Fascist. Look at this -http://www.politicalcompass.org/aus2010. The closest thing we have to a mainstream 'Left' party are the greens. And they are a trinket environmentalist party, caring more about Cows than Humans. So don't even think of coming here if you aren't White, Christian, and Right-Wing. Anyway, I guess I would go to Canada, UK, Ireland, or possibly New Zealand.
That's just the country's continued economic progression, FHC created the "Plano Real" which go us out of an whooping inflaction problem, which in turn made the economy stable. Lula was more the charismatic leader that came from slums, I mean he didn't even finish school, so you would think he would make a better school system, nope. He simply did nothing at all, and we still suffer from polarized Income per Capita, which means there's too many rich people, but even more poor people, there's no in between in this. Our country still suffers from public employees getting almost nothing as a minimun salary, which is aproximately 200 US dollars, I hope Dilma does better than he did.
