Okay so I downloaded and played the demo for company of heroes, and I must say I like men of war: assault squad much better. Company of heroes just didn't jibe with me.
I like 'em both, but I feel like Assault Squad needs more (and varied) missions. Plus there's no automatch.
Gameplay wise, it's AS is better. The face past action of CoH is once again like MW, but at the cost of realism.
I play it but its pretty hard but i'm ok at the Campaign but i suck at Skirmish because i like to build a large force and not be rushed and resources are a pain to capture because they aren't easy to defend and requires troops from defending my main base that i can't replace and i can't send Infantry as they die easily and Tanks are so hard to get and its takes a long time to get a decent amount most of the time i leave everything to an AI ally as i think you share resources but most of the time they get massacred and then my base gets rushed and i go into Rage mode
I used to play it alot but then I started hating it :| my favorite strategy was to play a map that had alot of bridges(it was 2v2 cant remember what it was called though) and get a bridge up and running then mine it with my enginaeers and if the enemy ever pushed me back across it blow the bridge and take all of their armour with it I would have a bunch of MGs on the other side so inf would do nothing but get suppressed as soon as they tried to cross so armour was the only way
I've found watching the replays to be the best way to get better at it. Simply copy what the guy who beat you did.
never thought i was going to find this topic, I always just go to a map with bridges, (Best (Hooray for the Netherlands again)) blow the bridges near the enemy up so they are on a island, make some defence near the bridges so they cant repair them, capture all territory, make large tank army, KILL EM ALL, it works fine for me
